Responsibilities
The Quality Technician works with the production supervisor and solutions staff to successfully and profitably produce electrical and or mechanical sub-assemblies, modifications of components and part kits.
Reading and interpreting drawings and specifications to identify appropriate inspection and verification methods
Working with engineers and production supervisors on new projects, prototyping and build process requirements
Creation of image-based work instructions and quality criteria for each new internal production build and periodically assess existing production builds and work instructions for accuracy
Creation and recording of quality records as needed or required
Performing inspection testing on completed builds and in-process inspections as needed
Proficient in the use of a variety of measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, microscopes, etc.)
Assisting with process improvement projects, CA/PA investigations and determining root cause analysis for known product failures
Coordinating the organization of controlled documents as issued by the design and operations teams
Monitoring non-conforming material incident files and quality on hold inventory and review for trends and patterns
Assisting the Production Supervisor and Engineering Manager in designing and implementing necessary changes to policy and procedure resulting from failure events
Assisting production at the technician level for capacity reasons
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum of one year of experience working as a quality technician and minimum of five years electromechanical experience preferred
Excellent computer skills, including typing and the use of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word and Excel)
Understanding of mathematical calculations involving basic statistics and operational data
Experience with basic measurement equipment for part and product inspection
Good verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work well with others and train as needed
Demonstrate ability to communicate well with co-workers
Strong problem-solving skills
Ability to operate test equipment in order to perform required test on electrical and electronic products
Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple and changing priorities in order to complete assigned tasks and meet customer requirements
