Power/mation is a nationally recognized distributor specializing in advanced automation hardware and software products as well as solutions. We help our customers improve their manufacturing processes by assisting them in the application of unique automation solutions in the following technology areas: motion control, logic control, software, sensors, vision, safety, power transmission, panel components and solutions.
Power/mation began in 1961 and has grown to multiple locations within Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska and the Dakotas.
Responsibilities
Provide accurate pricing information on a timely basis to support the quoting activity of the company.
Manage complex requisitioned materials, components, and services using creative buying/negotiating strategies consistent with the designated quality and quantity requirements.
Maintain optimum product inventory levels.
Schedule and expedite deliveries.
Establish and build relationships with vendors.
Communicate with sales personnel on deliveries, lead time and vendor updates.
Qualifications
Minimum of three years purchasing experience in a distribution industry preferred.
High School diploma or equivalent.
Knowledge on principles of inventory control, purchasing, accounting, and sales.
Good negotiation and business relationship building skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Detail oriented and ability to handle multiple changing priorities.
