Solutions Production Supervisor

Power/mation is a nationally recognized distributor specializing in advanced automation hardware and software products as well as solutions. We help our customers improve their manufacturing processes by assisting them in the application of unique automation solutions in the following technology areas: motion control, logic control, software, sensors, vision, safety, power transmission, panel components and solutions.

Power/mation began in 1961 and has grown to multiple locations within Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska and the Dakotas.

Responsibilities

This individual will supervise our Solutions production area in St Paul, working with the Solutions team and our sales staff by overseeing the production of Solutions internal projects, along with coordinating and reviewing potential opportunities and production work.  The Production Supervisor supports the Solutions department’s objective to profitably sell internal engineering, fabrication and assembly services, assisting in the sales of Power/mation’s hardware and software products, which include:

 

  1. Turn-key solutions
  2. Assemblies and modifications of components
  3. Control panel assembly
  4. Component Kits
  5. Hardware configuration downloads

Manages the build schedule to ensure on time delivery. Conducts regular production meetings to address questions and concerns.

Communicates and implements work procedures to direct reports.

R

Maintains shop equipment and ordering of shop supplies.

R

Coordinates staffing coverage, including approving time off and processing time cards.

Qualifications

R

Minimum two year technical degree related to mechanical, electrical, science, or factory automation and/or equivalent technical experience.

R

Previous consulting experience, sales experience or customer service experience desirable.

R

Knowledge of industrial automation products including mechanical, electrical and PLC systems in order to understand production requirements.

R

Ability to quickly research and assimilate technical information and consult customers regarding best choices for product selection, implementation and deployment into their unique manufacturing environment.

Ability to travel to offsite business/customer locations if required.

R

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to effectively present/communicate technical information in face to face meetings and via telephone. Good interpersonal communication skills to promote positive relationships with vendors, customers and Power/mation staff.

Effective listening and problem solving skills to ascertain production needs, provide correct solutions, and effectively interact with external and internal customers and sales staff. Judgment and decision making skills to handle customer inquiries appropriately.

Organizational skills and time management in order to ensure production is covered in an efficient manner as well as the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with frequent changing priorities on a regular basis.
